Spotlight on new ‘’Eclipse actress” Jodelle Ferland
![]() She is Jodelle Ferland, and she has recently been announced (by both Variety and herself) as a new cast member for the third in the Twilight film series. One Variety report about The Twilight Saga: Eclipse casting, and the Twilight world knows her name. She is Jodelle Ferland, and she has recently been announced (by both Variety and herself) as a new cast member for the third in the Twilight film series. Though her role is as yet unknown, Variety states that Ferland will portray “a vampire who has just been turned.” While the barely there description could apply to a host of characters in Eclipse, the most prominent (female) vampress in the book series is Bree - a newborn vampire who survives the initial vampire showdown, but whose bloodlust for Bella puts her in a precarious cir$%^&$%^&$%^&stances. Ultimately, despite Carlisle’s extension of an offering to care for and develop Bree’s, ahem, socially responsible behavior, the Volturi guard present after the battle will not allow for it (pennance for her work with Victoria (to be portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard in the film) and her newborn army). In fact, she is killed by Felix (portrayed by Daniel Cudmore, presumably) on Jane (Dakota Fanning)’s orders. The description of Bree in the story indicates that she is a beautiful, thin, brunette girl with a shrill voice around the age of fifteen. One look at Ferland, and it is quick to see why she might be automatically assumed to be cast for the role of Bree. Ferland is, in fact, nearly fifteen years old, and she is a native of Canada. Ferland is also a friend to current The Twilight Saga: New Moon Volturi star Cameron Bright, and she has worked with Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse starlet Kristen Stewart in The Messengers. Ferland’s film resume, like her co-stars in Eclipse, is nothing shy of impressive. Starting in 1999 with the television series Cold Squad, Ferland has been featured in a great number of television series, including Higher Ground, Wolf Lake, Dark Angel, Special Unit 2, Smallville, Dead Like Me, The Collector, Kingdom Hospital, Stargate SG-1, and Stargate: Atlantis. Ferland’s film resume includes Deadly Little Secrets, They, Tideland, Silent Hill, Swimming Lessons, Seed, Good Luck Chuck, Bloodrayne: Deliverance, and Wonderful World. One look at this, and you might surmise that, like her friend Cameron Bright, Jodelle Ferland has a lot of dark, creepy work under her belt - preparing her well for what is coming with her work on the slightly more sinister scenes in Eclipse. Her work in up-coming suspense films Case 39 and The Cabin In The Woods does nothing to change that speculation, either. Said she about the phenomena, “They like to cast me for scary roles. I think it’s because they want you to be scared, but also to like the little girl.” Spotlight on new ‘'Eclipse actress'' Jodelle Ferland - Twilight - Jodelle Ferland
